FAQ
- How do I set up a party for my group?
Just give us a call. All we require is a $100 deposit to hold your date. - When do I need to have my menu selected?
We ask that you get your menu figured out two weeks before the event. We do provide flexibility in adding more items though if numbers increase for your event. - Should our outing include activities and a meal?
This is totally up to you and your budget. We tend to feel that a good meal makes every event more memorable, and that most employees sincerely appreciate when their company provides a meal for their outing. - How far in advance should we plan our event?
We recommend booking your event as early as possible to ensure you get the date you want and the time you want. We can accommodate multiple groups, but booking early ensures you get what you want. - Should we cover the entire cost or make our employees pay for some of it?
Well, this is totally up to you and your budget. We have many companies who do it both ways at Sleepy Hollow, but a good tip if you are paying for the entire event is to hold your employees accountable if they don't end up showing. That way you ensure a great turnout for your event, and if an employee decides not to come after electing to, you aren't on the hook for their meal. - Who should we allow to come?
Again, it depends on your goals. If you want it to be a team building experience, or wish to hold meetings throughout the day, limit it to employees. If you want it to be an appreciation, you can open it up to immediate families, or you can do just spouses. Talk to Mary when you call if you have questions, in the end, it really is up to you and what your goals for the event are. Some companies do allow additional guests to come if the employee inviting them pays the company ahead of time. Remember, if you have any questions just give us a call! - How far in advance should we tell our employees?
Let them know the date as soon as you can to ensure maximum turnout. We can help you with posters, fliers and email blasts. Just ask about promotional materials when you call! - What is this going to cost?
Add the price of your activity package to the price of the meal. Then multiply that by the number of participants. Take that number times 1.06 for tax. That is your total. - What is the number one thing we should remember?
Have fun!
Des
Moines Renaissance Festival
Located in the new Festival Park at Sleepy Hollow.
Step back into the magical time of the Renaissance. All within our European village you will be entertained by jousters, minstrels, comedians, pirates and magicians. You may be chided by trolls and wenches. Meet Queen Catherine, King William and their court. Participate in games of skill and chance, learn to fence, take a ride on a man-powered carnival ride and, or course explore the village shops. Wander through the guild wall and watch potters, glass blowers, blacksmiths and other artisans at work. And no visit is complete without sampling the local fare – from turkey legs and apple dumplings to mead, wine & homemade root beer. Or, choose to organize a banquet in the Feasting Hall. This will be a great day of fun and frivolity!
